Track Name: I Smash The Hourglass
I watch the grains of sand passing by
Reminiscent of those days when moments couldn't die
Though we reach the end of the fuse, there's just a sigh and a shrug
I'm terrified that we're dying like a lit candle simply does

Why do we always ignore the crucial intermediate step?
This time I might really understand what it's like to mind the gap

I smash the hourglass
Free from any fate once bottled in a stifling charade
I smash these thoughts soaked with fear
To remind myself that time can stand still for a while

In how many pledged miracles do we still trust?
Written in stone, kept by heart until we're the metal left to rust
Time will tell, but it's rather the acceptance that makes us creep either way
Romanticized by narrow minds preaching some 36-hour day

It was our own idea to call these days numbered short
Within few seconds from denial to despair, back and forth

I smash the hourglass
Free from any fate once bottled in a stifling charade
I smash these thought soaked with fear
To remind myself that time can stand still for a while

I smash the hourglass
When the shudder quits, the part of the puzzle finally fits
I smash these thoughts drenched in sighs
'cause it's all that's given to us to stay away from the settling dust

Where's the sense in drawing dotted lines?
When drawing conclusions doesn't feel like minor confusion
Where's the sense in drawing a dotted line?
When my eyes are enforced to haste, shift the gears, accelerate

Tuck me in, hold me tight
I need to get hold to catch your eyes
Tuck me in, hold me tight
(The hourglass lays shattered in the sand)
Track Name: Masquerade (Disenchant The Obvious)
Give me only a handful of twisted letters
I could sort out the disorder to pick out the right
Our persistent common alibi
Write down some half-hearted words
I would speak them to myself
A calming lullaby

Start one short sentence falling victim to nonsense
I was able to finish it the way I need to prevent
Further endorphins from committing suicide
What's there left, anything else to carry on and pretend?

Can you recognize what the back up plan's be like?
'cause I've got no longer blueprints to keep up the fight.
Could you read my mind to unleash the unspoken words?
My eyes refuse to see, the vision's blurred but the silhouette already hurts.

Why are there so many lines out there
Must have written for me?
The gap that needs to be refilled
“Dedicated for ...”, is hopefully again meant for me

Being trapped in, getting trampled under my own dignity
As you can see, as you can see
Track Name: Second Nature
Could you change the perspective, please
Too many close-up views feel like a distraction to me
Retrace your footprints back to some charted trail
Before you lose yourself in trivial details
I know the walk astray

Could you turn on the lights, it's now or never
Navigate this shipwreck into something's close to fair-weather
Absorption lets me stumble
A torch in the dark versus a heart that crumbles

Don't obstruct the doors, please
I only try to be prepared for the case of emergency
The wailing, the noise, the sirens linger on
At least in my head, turn the outlets open
Until the lack of oxygen is gone

When the change of perspective fails
The inner eye's supposed to balance blind man's wail
But what if the inner eye slurs
And the code I receive is nothing but a blur

It doesn't matter if I can see things on the whole
When little sparks can't inflame the soaked coals

These memories are handcuffs to my heart
I simply wish to face them, not to let them tearing me apart
There's no explanation that really fits
The nature of a feeling or feeling used to it
Track Name: Poems On Pavements
Open your eyes when glory fades
Take a breath, it's just never too late
All these things that take you down, all these dying dreams
Just write 'em down with gasoline

Yesterday I wrote some lyric
I've written it with gasoline
It sounded honest, almost poetic
It was about choking on my dreams

It was like:

Open your eyes when glory fades
Take a breath, it's just never too late
All these things that take you down, all these dying dreams
Just write 'em down with gasoline

Oh, these flames have never been so high
Oh, these flames have never been so high
I've written poetry down the pavement
It felt right to watch it burn, it felt right to face the end

Never keep the flame from burning
Never keep the brain from learning
Your blood shouldn't be the only thing that boils
When dreams have to breathe through a dirty plastic foil.
Track Name: Heavy Hearts
So here we go and here we are
With heavy heads and heavy hearts
In the shadows of the gallows of our weary minds
Counting broken thoughts line by line.

There are heads of porcelain, ready to crack
Straight against the grain, broken backs and constant wrecks
Does this game really need someone who fails to score?
If you're thinking too long your brain is getting sore.

So here we go.
And here we are.
With heavy heads.
And heavy hearts.

These hearts are too big, there is too much space
They're choking on the blood they're pumping, they're pumping to be erased
Between shadow and light, that's state-of-the-art
I'll always keep thinking about these heavy hearts.

„It ain't about how hard you hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.“
